Quad biking is the fastest way to see the countryside around Marrakech. In the Palmeraie you ride on sandy tracks between date palms and mud-brick villages, ten minutes from the city. In Agafay you ride over open stone desert with the Atlas Mountains in front of you.
No experience is needed. Every rider gets a helmet, a short lesson and a practice lap before the guide leads the group out. Speeds stay sensible and the guide watches the slowest rider, so it works for beginners and for people who have ridden before.
Half way through we stop at a Berber family home for mint tea and bread baked in a clay oven.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a driving licence for quad biking in Marrakech?
No. A licence is not required. Riders must be 16 or older to drive alone; children from 6 can ride as passengers with an adult.
Palmeraie or Agafay: which is better?
Palmeraie is closer and greener, good if you have a short stay. Agafay feels more like a desert and has mountain views, but adds about 30 minutes of driving each way.
Can two people share a quad?
Yes. Two-person quads cost less per person. The driver must be at least 16.
Is quad biking safe?
Yes, with sensible speeds and a guide. You wear a helmet, ride in single file, and the guide adapts the pace to the group.
